We live in Texas (San Antonio) and want to go on a 2 day trip to relax and have fun. Where is a good place to go that isn't too far but fun and cheap?

Garner State Park, about 100 miles from San Antonio It is located in Cancan TX. There are a whole host of things to do there and close enough to almost trip over and yet when you are there you would think that you are a 1000 miles away. Actives include birding, boating, camping, canoeing, fishing, hiking, miniature golf, nature study, pedal boat. The Frio River is there and has some of the prettiest water in Texas. Uvalde is about 30 minutes away and Has many good places to eat, there is also a Super Wal-mart Store there for those things that you have forgotten or decided that you wanted after all. Have fun

This time of year, Lost Maples state park is the best place, the leaves are dropping off of the Maples and it is beautiful.
