Why is Australia experiences flash floods?

Q.

Answer
Flash floods occur when a lot of very heavy rain occurs over a short period. The water has to go somewhere. Most of the floods in Australia were not flash floods but river floods where more and more water runs into the rivers and the rivers rise, overflowing their banks. There is plenty of warning for river floods, next to no warning for flash floods.

"Australia didnt help Pakistan when it having flood, so allah now punishing Aussies"
The Australian Defence Forces made a number of trips to Pakistan taking in tents, tarpaulins, plastic sheeting and water purification equipment, generators, birthing kits and water containers to help more than 10,000 affected families. Australia gave more than $15million worth of aid. If allah doesn't like it, you know where he can go.

i want to fully change my families lifestyle. am i making a mistake?

Q. ok so my partner, myself and our two daughters aged 3 and 1 live in australia below the poverty line. we rent a house and have also brought a block of land 1.4 acres. we are struggling with rent, mortgage, bills, food and all the rest! im over it and im over seeing my husband stressing constantly about everything. i'm sick of the TV being on and the junk food that is alway being brought into the house and useless cluttering crap that i have to clean up everyday and not being able to afford potatoes.
im wanting to sell of all our useless stuff and move into a tent on the block and build our house ourselves bit by bit, grow our own food (we already have some fruit growing and two chickens) and just say screw you to the world! limited power, no tv no internet just a whole lot of nature for the kids to run around in!
am i going mad or am i really onto something??
if you could do it would you?
would really like to know people opinions on this???
thanks
better paying job is not an option my partner is looking ALL the time but there is no one hiring anywhere around where we live for anything

Answer
you really shouldn't live in a tent, you couldn't do without basic bathroom and kitchen necessities. And building a house is hard work, you would definitely need some help to be able to build a decent house to code.
But you are on to a couple of good things. If you have 1.4 acres, that is plenty of space for a nice garden. Grow fruits, vegetables, grains, maybe get some more chickens so you have plenty of eggs, and maybe some to sell. Maybe get some other animals like a cow for milk. Do as much as you can for yourself. Learn to make your own bread, snacks, anything you can. Homemade is almost always healthier and cheaper. In this world it's hard to get by without internet, but why bother with the TV. Don't pay for cable. Turn off the TV, who needs it, plus there are always things online you can watch.
Take advantage of your land, it's really your only asset. If you can grow enough to sustain yourself, and maybe sell some, that would almost completely get rid of your grocery bill, and maybe make you a bit of profit.
Get your kids to help you in the garden. Get them out of the house, playing outside, teach them the value of work. Teach them to clean up after themselves and take pride in their property.
Don't move into a tent, I'm sorry you'll probably keep having to pay rent until you can afford to get contractors to build your house, but in the meantime, use the land to its full potential.

Any recommendations on kids friendly camp grounds near Los Angeles?

Hello! This will be our 1st family camping trip. I have 2 girls one just turned 17mos, and the other is 7yrs old. So we are looking for kid friendly camp ground near Los Angeles, I'm hoping they have activities for them where hiking is also included, either way any ideas would be very helpful, we dont mind making some driving. Thank You in advance!!

Answer
The most kid-friendly campground around Los Angeles is Carpinteria State Beach. There are MANY families there, and we never have any problems finding playmates and activities for our youngest, who is now 10. In fact, we are going there this weekend.

There are nature programs, ranger programs (although some are limited by budget), a nature center, and campfire programs. However, the main activity that kids do is either playing on the beach with other kids, or riding bikes/scooters/skateboards. You can also walk into the nice little town there.

Our youngest is now 10, and her job since she was about 4 or 5 has been to make a friend. It's not hard. The place is overrun with kids. When she finds a friend, she tells us where she is via walkie-talkie. Yeah, it's that safe. We've met a lot of nice folks this way.

There's a cute little town you can walk through, which includes an old fashioned candy store and a Foster's Freeze. There are local favorites, like the Spot (burgers) or the Palms (cook your own steaks). If you've had a rough day, you can even have pizza delivered to your campsite. It's just that cool. Our oldes, now 27, is coming with us once again with her hubby, and she has many fond memories. My guess is that she'll start making some memories with her own family in a couple years.

But keep in mind, sites are already booked for the summer. Your best chance is to go to reserveamerica.com and check to see if there are any cancellations. Sites book 6 months in advance. I made reservations for this weekend back on November 1. Good luck!

Need a Good camping ground near Los Angele's?

Well A few friends and I want to plan a trip to camp out for a few days
But I don't know what Campground or camping place allows over night camping this season.Any one have a good place for this season?

BTW.We are not doing any hunting hiking we're just wanting to have the overnight camping experience.=]Thanks

Answer
Big Bear is tooooo cold now for camping. Wonderful places on the beach north of Malibu (State Parks) , 40 minutes and North of Ventura , hour and half, Get their County park system info 805-649-1122. Extremely difficult to get reservations in the summer, but now, especially on a week day is good. Call 805-654-3951: Faria and Rincon Park Way are first come basis, Hobson is reservations. If they are full for reservatons, as the State Park in Carpenteria often is, show up early on day you wish to camp and get someone's no show. Also great beach camping north of Santa Barbara (All State Parks). Two and half hours. If it is foggy at beach (as it has been the past week) then there is Lake Casitas, north of Ventura on way to Ojai, hour and half to two hours, call 805-647-1122 , lots of camping close to water. Select site appropriate for you as there can be partying noise into the night at some sites. If reservations are full and for on spur of moment you can call individual camp ground for a place. Have fun. I love camping in all of the above! There is more rustic camping higher into Ventura County's mountains to may wish to explore on Internet or calling around for info.

Camping/Fishing/Hiking/Wildlife viewing near Chicago?

Snicklefri

I live in Chicago and this summer I would like to go camping, along with hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, maybe even swimming (Lake Michigan). Is there anywhere less than 2 hours away that you would recommend? (Southern Michigan, Western Indiana, etc)

Answer
Unfortunately there really isn't anything less than two hours away I would recommend. As much as I love the city of Chicago, it is one of the weaker states for outdoor opportunities.

However, there are a couple neat places within a two hour drive. One of them is the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore just over the Indiana border from Chicago. This is a quite scenic area that borders Lake Michigan.

The other recommendation I have is Devils Rock State Park in Wisconsin, northeast of Chicago. This park actually offers some vertical relief with a beautiful lake setting.

I consider those the two best areas within a two hour drive of the city. To get to some real "country" you will need to drive a minimum of five hours from Chicago to the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest in Wisconsin. This is the wildest public lands area that is the cloest to Chicago. If you go a little further north you will encoutner the Ottawa National Forest in Michigan which is one step up wilder from that. In the Ottawa National Forest you will find the Sylvania Wilderness (a watery, lake filled canoeing paradise), the Sturgeon Gorge Wilderness and the McCormick Wilderness. These are some truly wild places. Finally, by driving about 7 hours to Lake Superior , you will encounter the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park which is around 50,000 acres with 40,000 acres of wilderness. It containes beaches, waterfalls, cliffs, old growth forests, and great hiking trails. This is the largest wilderness area in the midwest outside of Isle Royale National Park and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area.

Where can i rent camping gear near Chicago, IL?

no nicknam

I'm finally taking my family on our first camping trip. But I'm on a tight budget and can't afford new camping gear or used for that matter. I looked it up on craigslist and it's still too expensive for me. Is there any place that can rent me the equipment for the weekend?

Answer
I'm not sure exactly what kind of "gear" you need, but try calling REI (Recreation Equipment, inc.)
REI Lincoln Park Store
(312) 951-6020
1466 N Halsted St, Chicago, IL 60642
I'm pretty sure they rent pup tents, sleeping bags, backpacks, camp stoves, etc. and they have other Chicagoland locations:
Oakbrook Terrace, IL
Northbrook, IL
Schaumburg, IL

_________
and it looks like they are having a free "Camping Basics" event this week (06-04-2012 at the Northbrook location and 06-06-2012 in Schaumburg)

What is the best family tent?

romeochewy

We have a 4 month old, but only a 2 person tent. We are looking to start camping again starting next month. We want one we can hopefully stand in (hubby is 6'2"), maybe has different rooms, but not a necessity. A screen porch type thing would be nice, but again not necessity. We do want enough room to have a place to get out of the rain when it does. It can get cold and decently windy where we go. And we'd love something that is easy to set up. We have 2 70 pound dogs that would also be there with us.
We have a van so it dosen't have to break down too small, although that would be nice. And something with a carrying case that actually can fit back in once taken out.
We want an independent one, not one that attaches to a vehicle,

Any suggestions?

Coleman Elite WeatherMaster - 17'x9' 6 Person Cabin Tent with Light System & Screenroom
$259.99
This tent may be worth checking out.

I need help finding a good cheap at least 8 person tent!?

Q. I'm having a "camp out" sleepover in my backyard basically so my brothers and my mom and dad can't bug me. I already have a 7 person tent (it only fits 5) and I'm inviting 10 people so then there can be 5 people in each tent so I've looked on amazon and target and none of them are really in my price range and have the amount of space that I want. There is one (the Coleman Montana) but other than that I haven't really found anything. We're all really girly girls too so there has to be at least a little bit of space which is why I want a 7 or 8 person tent. I'm paying for it cause that was the only way I could talk my mom and dad into letting me have 10 girls sleepover in tents that they'd have to buy. Since I just bought a new laptop and iPod I'm kinda low on money so maybe in the $100-125 range would be best.

Thanks!
H

Answer
Target has other models available. All you need is a simple cabin tent because you are not assembling your tent for bad weather. You will have a fair-weather overnight with your friends in the backyard, so a rugged tent is not needed. All you need is some privacy.

This cabin camping tent has a D-style door for easy entry and exit. Its color-coded assembly system allows for hassle-free pitching.

Coleman Eight-Person Bayside Tent, $140.

With its cabin-like design and plenty of room to stand and move, the Coleman Bayside 8-person tent gives you the feeling of home at the campsite. Patented hinged door offers quick and easy access inside and out. Designed for any weather with a strong steel and fiberglass frame. Oversized awning gives you extra protection from sun or rain. Plus, welded floors and inverted protected seams keep you and your gear dry. Fits 2 queen size airbeds. Snag-free setup in just 15 minutes.

Where can I camp in Toronto?

Q. I am leaving Sunday evening for a road trip and need places to stay near Detroit, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and Quebec City.

Answer
Well... there are a number of parks and campgrounds surrounding Toronto and it would be easy to Google them, however directly in Toronto (allthough still far from the city core) is the Glen Rouge Campground (http://www.toronto.ca/parks/recreation_facilities/camping/index.htm). It is east from Toronto. West and north west from Toronto are the Indian Line Campground (http://www.trca.on.ca/parks_and_culture/places_to_visit/indian_line/)and Bronte Creek Provincial Park (http://www.ontarioparks.com/english/bron.html)

Enjoy your trip.

Does anyone know any good campsites in Northern California?

Darla

I am looking for a campsite not too far from the Bay Area, like 2.5 hours max. I am 22 and planning on going up with a group of friends (6 of us) and I am looking for a campsite that is low on cost, and one where we won't get in trouble for making a little (really just a little!) noise past curfew. We are not loud, rude or abrasive, we just may not want to go to bed at 10pm. Thank you in advance!

Bay Area camping
(links to pages for parks with hiking, or nearby)

North Bay (Marin, Sonoma, and Napa Counties)
⢠Angel Island. Hike-in campsites. (For descriptions, go to the Angel Island website)
⢠Austin Creek State Recreation Area. Tent and backcountry campsites.
⢠Bothe-Napa Valley State Park. Tent and RV campsites.
⢠China Camp State Park. Walk-in campsites.
⢠Doran Regional Park. RV and tent campsites. Since this park is situated on an exposed, sandy spit on the south side of Bodega Harbor, there's not much privacy.

Camping and Backpacking the San Francisco Bay Area, by Matt Heid (order this book from Amazon.com). All bay area camping and backpacking destinations are described in this book, which includes park maps for the car and hike-in campgrounds, and trail maps for the backpacking excursions. General trail info helps in planning hikes. I do wish Heid's book encompassed coastal Sonoma County campgrounds like Pomo Canyon and Bodega Dunes, and there are no campgrounds maps, a feature I really miss. Despite those quibbles, this is a great guide for bay area campers who love to hike.

⢠California Camping, by Tom Stienstra (order this book from Amazon.com). I refer to this book constantly when planning camping adventures in the state, and find it best used to obtain campground specifics and a general feeling for a place. My problem with the book is that I have a hard time following the driving directions. As an example, when driving to Letts Lake, in the Mendocino National Forest, the directions refer to a series of junctions, and instruct the reader to turn right or left, without ever mentioning the names of the roads. For me, this is the book's biggest shortcoming; it may be impossible to include more detailed driving directions, since each campground profile has a limited amount of space. In any case, for campgrounds way in the middle of nowhere, I always supplement this book's driving directions with either AAA or National Forest maps.

Answer
Good evening Grace,

I hope you had a great day.

1. What is your name?
Ronald. Sorry but I will not give my full name.

2. Where were you born?
I was born in Bowlingreen, Kentucky

3. What was your childhood like?
After my father returned from WW2, we moved to the San Fernando Valley which is a suburb of Los Angeles. I was five (5) years old. I grew up in the projects for GIâs returning from WWII. Looking back, we were poor. As kids, we did not realize we were poor. We had a ton of fun in the projects. There were plenty of kids to play with. We would eat fruits all day. There were acres of open land with every type of fruit tree imaginable. We would ride horses and swim all summer. We would go swimming in the huge dam in back of our apartment. The website below is a great picture of the projects with the huge dam as my swimming hole in the background.

4. Which war were you in?
Vietnam Dec.67 thru Dec. 68

5. Why did you join the war effort?
I was drafted.

6. What were the battles like?
Vietnam was always a battle. I was there doing the 68â Tet Offensive.

7. What was the most memorable event that happened during the war to you?
My most memorable event was a conversation with a Vietnamese woman. The conversation completely changed my opinion about values in America. Things Americans see as a normal way of life, yet other countries and peoples see us for what it is really worth.

The conservation: I was an Intelligence NCO in Vietnam. I had two Vietnamese women as interpreters. They loved to view Playboy magazines. They would look at new cars, clothes, and beautiful America women with smiles, giggles and laughter. One day Tue, name of one interpreter, told me if everyone in American had a car? I proudly answered âyes.â I added that I had two cars. Her eyes widened from the surprise of my answer. âTwo cars, i, i, i, i, America must be very rich place,â she responded. I then asked, âTue, wouldnât you like to come to America and drive a nice carâ? Tue looked surprised and prized for a few seconds. âOh no, Sergeant Ronald! I be afraid to drive car. I go to America I know I die in car accident. More Americans die in car accident in one year than die whole Vietnam War. I stay here and ride my bicycle. I am not afraid because no one dies on bicycle in Vietnam.â I smiled while shaking my head up and down in agreement.

Three days after returning to the states one of my Vietnam buddies died in a car accident on a lonely back road in Aurora, Missouri. No, has name is not on the Vietnam Wall. He was not in a war, right????

8. Did you stay till the end of the war?
No. Vietnam was for one year only.

9. What was life like when you got home?
One minute you were watching your fellow soldiers die. Twenty-four hours later you were in San Francisco, and the army was saying good-bye. You signed on the dotted line and you were released.

10. What did you do after the war?
I became a Stock Broker.

11. How do you currently live your life now?
I am retired. I am a profession Poker player. I travel, do a lot of hiking, camping and fishing in the Mighty High Sierras Nevada Mountains.

When the news say the U.S placed sanctions on Venezuela for shipping oil to Iran what do they mean exactly?

Answer
In short, companies in US that have businesses with PDVSA can't do it anymore... I think one of the Companies affected in US by this CITGO, because they are linked to PDVSA.

For me, an opposite to Chavez Regime, living in US, I think is OK, despite affects the biggest and most important Company of my Country, but that Company is now someting different as what original was, since Chavez took control of the Country and turning everything into 'Red Socialist'.

It is already well known the big relation of Hugo Chavez regime with Iran and the both with Islamic Terrorist Groups, as well with Colombian and Spanish Terrorist Groups. There are Islamic Terrist Camp, and there's a cell from Hezbollah currently operating in the State of Zulia, between the border with Colombia.

Camping in Washington?

jhredmondw

I need to find a good place to camp in Washington about 2-3 hours away from Seattle (prefer East of Seattle). I have already gone to the Washington State Park and Recreation website so please don't give me a link to that. I want somewhere specific where you may have had a good experience. (Lake chelan and Lake Wenatchee are all booked). Please don't give me a link unless it is to a specific camping place you have been. I just want names of places to go. Thanks.

Answer
While I haven't camped up there I have driven up there several times and know there are camping spots, its a place called "Salmon La Sac" its where my grandparents ashes were spread, its just north of Roslyn (awesome town!). Its up in the mountains and really beautiful and I think they have cabins too. You should really look into it.

If you were willing to head south, there are some nice places around Mt. St. Helen's, just outside of Cougar, WA. Three I have stayed at are Panther Creek, Beaver, and Paradise Creek. Here are the links.

The final link is for campgrounds in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. If you click the link, on the right side of the page, it has campground information by district. Those are all east of Seattle, but I've never stayed at any of them. Good luck!

Where should my family go on vacation?

Evan H

my dad my mom my brother (12) and me (16) want to go somehwere on vacation NEXT summer. we have thought about australia/new zealand, england/ireland, and italy. what would be the best place to go? we are thinking of going for 14-18 days
oh by the way
my family has already gone to greece and spain and turkey

Answer
Evan:

You have gotta go on a safari in Africa. Go to the Serengetti and Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania go with a travel company like Tauck, Overseas Travel, Globus, Travcoa or others. Go to http://www.TourVacationsToGo.com to find a good tour company. Or you can set up your own itinerary by using http://www.island-safari.com

Or go to Victoria Falls in Zambia and then to the Chobe National Park in Botswana. Botswana has so many elephants. More than anywhere in Africa. Stay at the Chobe Game Lodge then cross over to Namibia and stay at the Ichingo Tented camp then spend a few days on the Ichobezi houseboat on the Chobe. The game watching from the houseboat is fabulous as the animals come to the river to drink. Then go to the Okavenga Delta and stay in a camp in the Moremi park. Go on game drives every day. It is fabulous. Island Safari can set you up. So can Zambezi tours at: http://www.zambezi.co.uk/

Good luck and have fun. 73 from the Fisherman

The economy is a mess. Why do people object to tent cities when they may be the next ones looking for shelter?

Maya7777

Answer
It's amazing how many Americans are in total denial that these tent cities exist all across the United States.

I was in the USA in 2006 doing a television documentary on the homeless war veterans and 9/11 hero's in the United States and while filming and interviewing. We were invited by the homeless people we met, to see Americas never talked about hidden secret, "Tent Cities".

I've traveled all over the world and have never seen anything like them ever even in a third world country. Which many American families with young children were living in these squalid tent cities. Or living in a car with the parts and wheels sold to buy food or formula for infants and young children.

The people I met all shared the same stories and shed the same tears after of living week to week on one pay check who lost their job and only income to pay rent and ending up living on the street, with no where to turn.

Or families that had no money to pay off medical expenses for their sick child or a spouse. Who were evicted from their home by a sheriff to sell off all their personal assets and house to pay off the medical bills. Being made bankrupt so they were always knocked back of renting an apartment.

Also elderly people evicted from aged care homes or a rented apartment when their insurance ran out and had relatives they could stay with living on the street or in a tent city eating pet food.

All joining returned war veterans and 9/11 hero's who also share tents in these cities along side of these families.

What really got me was a young four year old girl who was eating a bowl of cereal with water for her dinner. Who's mother told me her daughter didn't even know what milk tastes like.

Even though I have returned back to my home in Australia. This whole experience still haunts me, especially seeing the current weather conditions in the USA.

Knowing these families, children, aged, war veterans, 9/11 hero's and others like them are living out in the cold. While more mega churches are being built in the USA, and ignorant Americans complain about the tent cities and people who live in them.

With how the way things are financially going downhill fast and as more Americans are becoming unemployed. It wont be long before many of these bias opinionated American people end up also living also with them.

Was the Vietnamese refugee camp in Pulau Besar or in Pulau Tengah?

Minja

As a child, my family was in the Vietnames refugee camp during 1978-79. I always remembered it to be Pulau Besar but based on recent Google searches, I now have some doubt that it might have been Pulau Tengah. Does anyone know for sure?

I would like to revisit that beautiful island. Has anyone been there?

It definitely wasn't Pulau Bidong, which became a much larger Refugee camp soon after I arrived at Besar/Tengah. My father escaped later from Vietnam and he was housed at Bidong.

Answer
If this is about the school camp then in my opinion, you might wanna try Malaysia. In Malaysia, you'll meet more people with different ethnic/race/culture(Malay, Chinese, Indian). I'm not trying to say one is better than the other. India and Malaysia both is a beautiful country. India have 1 of the richest culture in the world. You have to choose, both country is amazing.

Update: Yeah, like what Deepak said. India have more place to visit, since it is 5 times bigger than Malaysia. Good Luck and have fun.

Are there any beachs In Belgium, Holland or France that allow camping overnight on the beach? Or campfires?

silent_sky

I'm going with my friends sometime soon hopefully on a beach trip and I would love to put tents up and sleep over night on the beach and make a campfire. Preferably in Belgium, but France and Holland are good as well.

Any websites would be much apreciated. I already have the list of belgian beaches:
http://www.eupedia.com/belgium/belgian_seaside.shtml

Answer
In Belgium it is not allowed to overnight on the beach or making fire.
But you have camping sites in the dunes next to the beach, but not all of them have place for tents.
Search for camping in one of the coast cities or the province West Flanders. Start looking in Bredene, De Haan, Blankenberge, Middelkerke.

http://www.eurocampings.co.uk/en/europe/belgium/west-flanders/
http://www.campingo.com/west-flanders-camping.htm

I think the situation in Holland and France is the same: no camping on the beach (or anywhere else in the wild) allowed :-(

What are some places that end with P?

Mark. Yup.

wavebreak island Qld, camping help?

Nathan

Hey everyone,

me and a couple of friends are planning on going camping on wavebreak island for the long weekend.

just wondering if you're allowed to just pitch a tent wherever you like over there?
and is there firewood? thats all i can really think of at the moment! bring on the weekend

Answer
The only place in USA where citizens camp wherever they please for free
is in National Forest; open fire isn't allowed and Federal District Offices
can inform you of other rules that are being enforced by paid staff. There
are other Federal, State, County and municipal property posted regarding
public usage. These lands are regulated and supervised. Private property
is just that and either you have use authorization from owner or suffer from
legal consequences. American judicial and penal systems are crowded
with people who never honestly thought they would experience either. You
get one telephone call after arrival at jail; decide now who best to contact.

camping in wisconsin?

Jessica Ja

ok this is gonna sound like a weird question but some friends and i want to go on a kind of "survival weekend" where we go out with the most basic tools and just get away from of today's conveniences and we live in sheboygan Wisconsin, the thing is we don't want to go to a place with campsites, we want to be able to just go into the woods and pick our own place to camp. i don't mind driving like 50 miles but id prefer not to go to far

Answer
Dispersed camping is available in the Chequamegon and Nicolet National Forests in northern Wisconsin, several hours away from Sheboygan. Aside from that, I cannot think of any wild areas near Sheboygan for dispersed camping and backpacking. There are a few state parks near Sheboygan. Wisconsin does have some wildlife refuges and state forests that may allow overnight camping at remote sites. You will need to check with the DNR office in Madison or with local wildlife area managers.

Answer
Coleman tents are excellent value. I have three of them and they have all been brilliant.
You can find them in all outdoor or camping shops or buy online.
They do big family tents and backpacker tents and guarantee the waterproofing. I've never had a single problem with them in years of camping in very wet British weather and on the Alps and Andes and all over Europe.
Coleman is an American company with a world-wide presence, and has a large range of outdoor equipment in it's product list. For value for money Coleman is hard to beat.
http://www.coleman.eu/UK/c-410-tents.aspx . . .

Other very good firms to consider are Vango and Lichfield, both in the same group of companies which includes Trangia cooking equipment, and both very well established and highly respected.
Both do family tents and backpacker tents, both are British companies, and both have a very good reputation for quality.
Vango Force Ten tents are favourites on Everest. Vango gets involved with outdoor stuff and is a very good supporter of outdoor events.
My little mountain tent is a Vango and is excellent.
Lichfield isn't as well known but keeps on turning out good tents year after year. It's a solid and reliable company. I have one over thirty years old, bought for a £1. I reproofed it and it does a treat. Lovely tent.
A bit like Rayleigh Roadster bikes really. Not the flashiest around but a good standard bike.
Horace Dall got one across Iceland...the first man to do it on foot and bike right across the middle of Iceland from the south coast to the north. 1933. The bike was still running well forty years later. Horace lived near me in Luton. I learned my first bit of telescope making from him.
He didn't have a tent for the Iceland trip.
Tough guy, Horace.

First camping trip, please help :)?

nicola0102

Hi, i am planning a camping trip in the summer for my family. We are wanting to camp in a tent at a campsite and bring our own BBQ.

Now, this will be my first actual camping trip, as we usually go abroad, but as money is so tight at the moment we decided to holiday in the UK.

We will be taking our car, but obviously we will not want to store all our belongings in the tent for the whole week.

Are there locks for tents, so no one can steal our clothes whilst we are out during the day?

If anyone has any tips for camping with a young family can you tell me :)

thanks

Answer
I wouldn't waste your time locking the tent. First off I have never had anything stolen from my tent and none of my friends or family ever had anything stolen when camping.
The lock will just catch a persons attention, if you lock it they know there is something in there of value and will just cut through the tent to get to it, it wont deter them at all. A ripped tent isn't worth putting a lock on the tent to save your clothes, unless there is a homeless man looking for clothes I don't think you will be bothered. Just keep your tent zipped shut. If you are that worried about it have someone in the campsite at all times.

As for the young kids keep it interesting and fun for them but don't push them too hard or long if you decide to go for a hike. Let them play in the ponds, catch frogs/turtles/ salamanders, let them run through puddles, play in the rain; all stuff they normally cant do when they are home.Let them be kids. Get them interested in fishing if there is a lake or river near by. Go on a nature hike and try to spot animals. Have them build the campfire, stacking wood and such so you can light it, let them feel they had a part in creating that. Teach them how to start a fire. Let them pee behind trees. Just let them be kids and they`ll have a blast.

Has any of you ever been to United Arab Emirates?

Q. Do you any good place to visit there?

Answer
We are living in the UAE for the past 2 years. One way it is a real nice place for tourism. UAE encampouses 7 Emirates. Abu Dhabi, the capital City. Dubai, a Business Hub, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm AL Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.

Abu Dhabi is a RICH modern City with numerous tall buildings and colourfull Malls, Corniche (Beach line) and many Business centeres. Al Ain, 160 kms away but part of Abu Dhabi has FUn City (Park), Zoo, Mountain view, Hot water springs.....

Dubai is equally rich and highly expanding cosmopoliton city. Currently Dubai has the highest number of Construction going on comparing any city in the world. Lots of green parks and Beaches, theme parks..... One of the busiest cities in the world.

Other cities (Emirates) are nothing big add, but still have good amount of fun places to visit and even to camp. You cant miss the pre-Islamic Masque in Fujairah. UAE is safe for 24 hrs anywhere any time. Not like Saudi, it is a free country like US (of course a little restriction there, since they still follow the Islamic laws, which mostly will not have an impact on the Tourist).

Highlight of the county are - Good Roads, Feel Rich, Multi Cultural, Tax Free, Dubai's big Airport and world wide connectivity, Luxurious hotels (UAE claims Burj Al Arab in Duabi and Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi stays in line with very few most Luxurious hotels in the world).

Get your tickets booked today..... October to April is better time to trip and Nov to Feb is the winter here. Since there is no rainy days here, you can enjoy 365 days shine and bath.....

Are Dubai and Jeddah the most interesting cities in the Gulf?

None

I've been to Manama, found it boring. I hear Doha is boring as well.

Answer
There are many interesting places in the Gulf, it depends on what you find interesting though.

For example:

Tthe UAE is well known for its many attractions such as its wide variety of entertainment parks such as Wild Wadi - a water theme park , shopping centres and malls such as Mercato Mall ( Dubai), Marina Mall( Abu Dhabi) and Bin Batutta Mall (again Dubai ). This mall is like a small global world , each part representing a country by it's architectural design and products. Nature wise each place in the UAE, is is known for something. Its sand dunes ( Wadi Bashing, Fun Sand Drives & barbecues and camping), Heritage sites such as old forts and other places, mountains regions and beaches where diving is popular. I could go on and on...

Oman: Salalah, is very popular and known as a really lush green region that would probably shock tourists from around the world. It's a beauty.

KSA: It has some really beautiful places, it is all in its landscape and outdoor marketing.

Answer
Florence, born in Oklahoma and of Cherokee Indian descent, married farmer Cleo Owens on St. Valentine's Day in 1921.[1] In 1922, Florence and Cleo Owens moved to Shafter, California. In 1924, they moved to Porterville, some 50 miles (80 km) north of Shafter, where Cleo and his brothers had found work at a sawmill. But the mill burned down in 1927, so they moved 125 miles (200 km) further north to Merced Falls. There was no "Falls", but there was a sawmill, a strong river to carry logs down from the hills, and a small town. Merced Falls sat on the eastern side of the California Central Valley in the foothills and consisted of five or six streets, one store and one school. In September 1929, Florence gave birth to the fifth of her seven children, a girl named Ruby. In the same year, the Wall Street stock market crashed.

Cleo lost his job at the sawmill in 1931, and the family moved to Oroville in northern California, where Cleo joined his brothers and sisters working in the fields picking peaches. Cleo died from a high fever at the age of 32 soon after moving, and was buried in Oroville. At the time of Cleo's death Florence was expecting a child. During the next two years, Florence stayed around Oroville while her husband's family followed the crops around the state, returning to winter at Oroville.

In 1933, Florence discovered that she was expecting another child. Afraid that the father's influential family would take the child if she returned to her mother's home, Florence bolted with her children back to the Akman farm in Oklahoma.

Florence moved back to Merced Falls in 1934, leaving the infant, Charlie, to be raised by his grandparents. As families started leaving the town, Florence moved with her children from one town to another, from one camp to the next. Florence remembered that "when Steinbeck wrote in The Grapes of Wrath about those people living under the bridge at Bakersfieldâat one time we lived under that bridge. It was the same story. Didn't even have a tent then, just a ratty old quilt.

How to choose a camping tent?

Adela

I am planing my first camping trip. I want to know how to choose a suitable camping tent. I will go camping with my family. There are four of us altogether.

Answer
I go camping a lot, often with a group, and see most people using tents that are far too large and difficult to setup for their needs. They get a huge cabin tent for eight or more people, tall enough to stand upright and walk around, and then only put 4 people inside.

When they get to camp it takes 2 people almost an hour to get the tent set-up and all their gear arranged inside. Once this is done they spend all their awake time on outdoors activities or sitting around the campfire, and just go inside to sleep. All that space, time and effort is wasted, because you're never inside a tent unless you're ready to sleep. Even if its raining or snowing, I'd rather be outside with my family or friends under a tarp or ez-up gazebo so I can see the outdoors than stare at the blank walls inside a tent.

I prefer to take the smallest size tent I can comfortably use. There's enough room for the appropriate number of sleeping bags with a little space leftover to stack our bags. Headspace isn't a concern, I don't need to pace circles inside my tent. As long as I can sit-up on the ground without hitting my head on the ceiling I'm good.

So priorities for me are a) Weather resistance, including wind and rain; b) ventilation, to avoid a build-up of humidity that leads to condensation and for cooling on hot nights; c) adequate floor space for sleeping bags and minimal gear, with the rest stowed in the vehicle; d) easy setup and pack-up. I prefer a tent with a full rain fly for weather protection and a vestibule to stow muddy boots outside but under shelter.

Determining adequate floor space can be a challenge. Most manufacturers allow 24x78" of floor space per person, which I feel is inadequate. I prefer to use 30"x80" per person, plus allow for one additional person's worth of space for minimal gear storage. By this measure a 10'x9' tent (120"x108") allows four people to sleep side-by-side with enough space at the head of each sleeping space for a bag containing clean clothing and toiletries. According to most manufacturer's specifications, this would indicate a 6-person tent would be the best selection.

On the lower-price end of the scale, the Coleman Sundome 6 fits the bill, though I'm not much impressed with the rain fly and lack of vestibules. But its hard to find fault with its $99 price tag, as long as you're not expecting bad weather.

The Coleman Instant-Tent 6 is a popular model because of it's quick and easy setup. This cabin tent also provides stand-up interior height. Unfortunately it has no rain fly whatsoever, so one would need to bring an extra tarp for rain protection if bad weather was forecast. And, of course, with no rain fly it also has no vestibule. The Instant-Tent 6 can also be a packing nightmare with its 48" long packed size, so make sure it will fit into your vehicle.

The Kelty Buttress 6 looks to me to be the perfect tent, with adequate floor space, a good fly and vestibule setup and reasonable price. If I was going to buy a tent today to sleep a family of 4, this would likely be my top choice.

If money is no object and you want the ultimate family tent that is still weather proof, easy to setup and reasonably compact to pack, look at the REI Kingdom 6 with the optional Connect Tech Vestibule or Garage. But be prepared to spend over $500 on the complete setup.

How do you feel about predictions that 'The Rapture' will occur in May of this year (2011)?

Alan H

According to 'Family Radio', the 'Judgment Day'(the Rapture) will begin May 21, 2011 and the Earth will be destroyed on October 21, 2011.

Of course this is all nonsense, but I would like to know, does it scare you that a very powerful group is saying the world will end this year? Do you feel that this is another 'Heaven's Gate' or Jonestown type cult?

The 'Family Radio' website says:

"Judgment Day, May 21, 2011, The Bible Guarantees it!"

It shows the year 2012 crossed out, as if to say there is no 2012.

The host of the radio show, 89 year-old Harold Camping, has said he "knows" he will be taken up into Heaven before the end of the world.

I wonder, does he intend to participate in some mass suicide?

No crazies please.
"Rolling apocalypses." Very funny..lol

Answer
Hi there - good question.

I did not know that Camping was proclaiming then end of the world in May , but you were right.
I checked his web site and it said in big letters.

''THE END OF THE WORLD IS ALMOST HERE! HOLY GOD WILL BRING JUDGMENT DAY ON MAY 21, 2011''

I GUARANTEE you , the world will NOT end on that day , and Camping will be proved to be a false teacher.
The unmistakable fact is that according to Mark 13:32-33 is that no man has advanced warning of the time when the end of this world system will take place.

But for the moment lets consider how Camping and his FR is wrong.
Camping bases his 'end of the world' date using a known start date and adding 7 days.

In his view the Bible says that each day equals 1000 years.
So Camping is saying that the end will be at the end of the seventh day , which is 7000 years., and by his calculations that comes to May 2011.

Unfortunately his calculations are based on a fundamental error.

His reckons that a day truly is , and is exactly 1000 years.
Camping and co' believe this as they take the account of creation to be a literal 7 days long.

Exodus 20:11 .''For in six days Jehovah made the heavens and the earth, the sea and everything that is in them, and he proceeded to rest on the seventh day.''

However, the Bible does NOT says that 1 day for God EQUALS 1000 years in man's time.

It says this instead.

Psalm 84:10 ''For a day in your courtyards is better than a thousand [elsewhere]. I have chosen to stand at the threshold in the house of my God Rather than to move around in the tents of wickedness.''

2 Peter 3:8 ''.However, let this one fact not be escaping YOUR notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. ''

The scriptures may seem to indicate that a day is a thousand years but it does NOT say that it is equal.

This next verse goes contrary to the idea that 1000 years equals one day , it now compares it to a mere night watch , which is obviously far less than 1 day.

Psalm 90:4 ''For a thousand years are in your eyes but as yesterday when it is past, And as a watch during the night.''

In the next verse we see another reference of a day with God , and it too does not indicate that the day is equal to 1000 years in man's time.

Revelation 16:14 .''-- to gather them together to the war of the great day of God the Almighty.''

When you go through all the instances where a day and God are concerned the vast majority of them do not indicate a specific time duration , and definitely nothing to indicate that one day equals 1000 years.

On Campings site he did not show any scriptual proof to back the claim that 1000 years equals one day., because there is none.

This is a most fundamental requirement for his 'theory' and his teaching to be true.

The facts is , according to the Bible is that days are not fixed in duration , they can be short or long.
Some people have a problem understanding this , especially when it comes to the creation account in Genesis , but it is really very straight forward.

I am a man, I used to work building houses , it was a hard job.
Some days I was at work from sun up to well past sun down.,, on other days my work day was only a few hours long if I accomplished the days assigned tasks quickly.
This is not hard to comprehend , my work days varied in length , but I can still call them quite correctly , my work days.
Just as my work days varied in the exact time length so can Gods.

Jehovah Gods work days vary in duration and he kept going until the task set out upon was completed.
When looking back on the creation account , this means that some days could have been millions if not billions of years long , and some may have been very short by comparison....Whatever it took to get the job done.

So back to Camping.
His whole theory is based on fixed 1000 years days , but this is NOT supported in the Bible.

Camping is simply WRONG., and he is misleading his listeners.

Matthew 15:14 ''LET them be. Blind guides is what they are. If, then, a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit.â

By his own words he will prove that he is not following the true God of the Bible - Jehovah.

Matthew 7:15-16 ''âBe on the watch for the false prophets that come to YOU in sheepâs covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves. By their fruits YOU will recognize them''

Anyone who has experience long-term living in the wilderness?

I am in the process of starting an organization devoted to wildlife conservation and would like to spend a summer living in the wilderness studying and observing the wildlife for a book I am writing but would like some help from anyone with long-term wilderness survival...please e-mail me if you would like to discuss this further. Thanks!

Answer
I have had some extreme camping with the scouts, one in a survival setting of making huts out of branches, and brushy roofs in the middle of a snow storm. We only did that for a few days. I wouldn't want to do that for a season, but at least you are going in during the summer when the critters are about, especially biting flies and mosquitoes.

First, I would find a buddy. It's not wise to go by yourself. It would be too easy to knock you in the head, and no one would miss you until a missed status call.

Second, invest in a GPS unit if you are going into a large forrest. One company is also selling emergency response units that emails people you chose with your exact location if you set off. That would be smart because most forest unless in tourist areas are sparse on cell phone coverage. Never hurts to have an old fashion compass as well and a map.

Third buy a small kit with survival gear. Water tabs, MRE's, first aid kit, two-way radio and a way to power and charge out there. You might want to check out some survival sites and books, as there are enough loonies out there who fear basic survival, next big event in 2012. These people get off on wildness survival where they see themselves running when the next big one hits. If only Orson Wells scaring people off to the mountains with broadcast of aliens attacking the Earth. It kind of reminds me of that movie, "Red Dawn" when a pack of teens run to the mountains when the communist Cubans and Soviets attack their Colorado town (area).

I would invest in some good clothes, and some good camping gear. Backpackers have that to a science with solid packs, durable tents and the weight figured out to where they can pack it anywhere and not feel like a donkey at the end of the day.

Good luck with that. As a warning, there was once a guy who came from a good family up east who decided to give his college money to charity, and walked into the Alaska back country in basic clothing. He died of exposure. I would research the area you are going to, and find out what the extremes and plan accordingly. So many think that it will be warm all the time, or vise versa and find themselves in a pickle, and that is a week long camping trip that turns into a disaster. It sounds like you are talking months.

It sounds fun, but do it right, or we will be seeing your horrific ending on the news.

Why isn't Bush doing anything to stop Saudi Arabia from funding?

Q. terrorists organizations?
G'Evening Free!!

Answer
1991
The first Gulf War occurs, whereby George H. W. Bush is determined to push Saddam Hussein out of Kuwait to ensure the Iraqi dictator doesn't have a stranglehold on world oil markets. Osama bin Laden urges the Saudi royal family to find an Arab solution, by raising an army on their own to fight Hussein. When the royal family invites the U.S. in to do the job instead, Bin Laden becomes disenchanted with the House of al-Saud. His anger grows when after the war the US leaves 20,000 troops behind in Saudi Arabia. Soon Bin Laden makes a deal with the Saudi royal family: he is allowed to leave the kingdom with his fortune, and will receive funding for al Qaeda from various Saudi charities and banks, but in return he must not launch attacks against the royal family. Bin Laden settles in the Sudan, aiming his ire at the US.

1992
George H. W. Bush loses to Bill Clinton. Eventually the former president becomes an adviser to the Carlyle Group, a powerful Washington-based private investment firm with interests in the defense industry. Among his duties, Bush helps strengthen Carlyle's ties to the Saudi royal family. He will later visit Saudi Arabia and the bin Laden family compound. The bin Ladens eventually invest in the Carlyle Group. Carlyle buys a company called Vinnell Corp., which provides training to the Saudi palace guard. George W. Bush briefly sits on the board of directors of one of Carlyle's subsidiaries.

1993
The first attack on the World Trade Centre, which is connected to Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda, occurs.

1994
George W. Bush becomes governor of Texas.

1995
Five American soldiers are killed in a car bomb in Saudi Arabia. The Saudis quickly execute the suspects they arrest, ignoring wishes from the FBI to interrogate them beforehand.

The Taliban come to power in Afghanistan with the backing of Pakistan's notorious intelligence agency, the ISI.

1996
Osama bin Laden is forced to move from the Sudan to Afghanistan under pressure from the Clinton administration. Neither the US nor the Saudis make an effort to arrest him â despite the opportunity offered up to them by the Sudanese government.

June
A truck bomb blows up the al-Khobar barracks, housing US air force personnel in Saudi Arabia, killing 19 soldiers. A group called Saudi Hezbollah claims responsibility.
The Saudis meet with an al Qaeda representative at a Paris hotel in 1996.

Summer
A meeting of prominent Saudis occurs in a Paris hotel. Among the attendees is the head of Saudi intelligence, Turki bin Faisal. They meet with a representative of al Qaeda and agree to extend the earlier arrangement made between the Saudi royal family and Osama bin Laden â whereby in return for cash, al Qaeda agrees not to attack inside Saudi Arabia.

The CIA produces an internal report that documents the numerous Saudi charities that are funding terrorists. Osama bin Laden's name is mentioned.

1998
Al Qaeda makes it most audacious attack to date by blowing up US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, killing 224 people.

2000
January
Ziad Jarrah, pilot of Flight 93, which would crash into a field in Pennsylvania on 9/11, is stopped and interrogated at an airport in United Arab Emirates (UAE). He is returning from al Qaeda training camps in Afghanistan and is carrying Islamic religious material on him. The US is informed of the interrogation but not the details.

January
A high-powered meeting of al Qaeda occurs in an apartment complex in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. Attending the meeting is Khalid Shaykh Mohammed, the number three man in al Qaeda and mastermind behind the 1998 US embassy attacks, and architect of the USS Cole and 9/11 attacks to come. Also at the meeting is Khalid al-Mihdhar and Nawaf al-Hazmi, two Saudi citizens who would end up as hijackers on Flight 77, the plane that crashes into the Pentagon on 9/11.

The CIA learns about the meeting beforehand and asks the Malaysian secret police to place it under surveillance. Video footage and photographs of the dozen men in attendance are taken, though no tape recording is possible. After the meeting breaks up, Al-Hazmi and al-Mihdhar fly to the US on their own passports, landing in Los Angeles. There they are met by Omar al-Bayoumi, a Saudi national who works for the Saudi civil aviation authority. Just prior to picking up the two would-be hijackers, Al-Bayoumi meets with a member of the Saudi consulate in LA â a man connected to terrorist activity.

Al-Bayoumi takes al-Mihdhar and al-Hazmi to San Diego, puts them up in an apartment, signs a lease, holds a party for them, enrolls them in flight school and gives them money. Later, the FBI concludes that al-Bayoumi is likely a Saudi intelligence agent. Al-Bayoumi also passes on thousands of dollars to the hijackers that originate from Princess Haifa, wife of Prince Bandar Saudi ambassador to the US.

May-June
Members of the Hamburg cell, including ringleader Mohammed Atta, enter the US. They are traveling on Saudi visas, all of which contain errors on them.

September
Al-Hazmi and Al-Mihdhar move into the home of a local imam in San Diego, Abdussattar Shaikh. The imam is an FBI informant. In fact, Shaikh holds meetings with his FBI handler while al-Hazmi and al-Mihdhar sit in a room next door. Shaikh contends he was never told what mission the hijackers were on. His FBI handler, meanwhile, was never informed by his superiors to look out for al-Hazmi and al-Mihdhar.

October
The USS Cole, sitting in a harbour off the coast of Yemen, is attacked by a boat laden with explosives, killing 17 sailors.

November
George W. Bush is elected president of the US in a contested election. Support for his campaign from the oil industry is generous.

2001
In the months leading up to 9/11, the CIA, FBI and National Security Agency receive a burgeoning mountain of intelligence that a terrorist attack of some magnitude, and launched by Al Qaeda, is imminent. They assume the attack will happen overseas.

January
The CIA and FBI begin to piece together the importance of the individuals who met a year earlier in Malaysia. Despite the information they have, neither al-Hazmi nor al-Mihdhar are placed on the State Department and Customs watch list.

April
Al-Hazmi is stopped for speeding in Oklahoma. He is let go because his name does not appear in the police officer's data bank as a wanted man.

May
The CIA will later determine that Khalid Shaykh Mohammed, architect of 9/11 and al Qaeda's other attacks, was entering the US as late as this month, despite the fact he is a well-known figure in the terrorist netherworld, his name first becoming known to the CIA as early as 1995.

June
CIA and FBI meet to talk about al-Mihdhar. But the CIA does not hand over critical information to the FBI. Again, the men are not placed on any watch list and a search for them is not initiated.

July
A Phoenix, Az.-based FBI counter-terrorism agent writes a lengthy memo in which he says it has been noticed that a high number of Arabs, possibly with connections to al Qaeda, are taking flying lessons in local flight schools. His memo is ignored by FBI headquarters.

August
President Bush receives a detailed and lengthy presidential daily briefing from the CIA in which Osama Bin Laden and al Qaeda's aim of launching an attack against the US is discussed. To this day, the Bush White House refuses to release the contents of this briefing to Congressional inquiries into 9/11.

The CIA finally puts al-Hazmi and al-Mihdhar's name on the watch lists. By then it is too late. The FBI and CIA do a limited search for the men.

Sept. 11/2001
The attack occurs. The morning of the attack George Bush Sr. is meets with members of the Carlyle Group in Washington. Bin Laden's own brother is at the meeting. Members of the Bin Laden family are allowed to leave the U.S. without questioning two days later.

if canadian fire spread to washington dc for few months?

Q. COME, LORD JESUS,
================

WHAT WILL PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA DO IF WASHINGTON DC IS COVERED WITH SMOKE FROM CANADA FOREST FIRE?

CAN US GOVERNMENT US HYDROGEN BOMBS TO STOP THE FIRE IN CANADA FROM SPREADING TO AMERICA?

I THINK IT IS A GOOD MOVE.

IT WILL SAVE TIME AND MONEY.

WE MUST REMEMER THAT WASHINGTON DC WITH 6,000,000 PEOPLE LINVING IN 10,000 SQUARE MILES OF LAND WILL BE CHOKE TO DEATH IF THE SMOKE FROM CANADA CANNOT BE CONTAIN.

IT IS TRUE THAT US GOVERNMENT HAVE ABOUT 400,000,000 GAS MASK.

BUT THERE ARE LOOPHOLES IN THE GAS MASK.

ANYWAY, WHO STARTED THE FIRE IN ONTARIO OR QUEBEC?

ANYBODY COULD START FIRE IN ONTARIO OR QUEBEC BECAUSE IT IS NEAREST TO WASHINGTON DC.

LAST TIME I HEAR THE FIRE STARTED IN RUSSIA BECAUSE OF HIGH TEMPERATURE.

SO, HIGH TEMPERATURE COULD ALSO TAKE PLACE IN ONTARIO AND QUEBEC.

THE QUESTION IS WHO THE START THE FIRE IN THE FOREST.

IN CANADA THERE ARE ALOT OF DRUG ADDICTS SO THEY ARE THE PRIME SUSPECT?

CAN US DEFEND THE FREE WORLD IF WASHINGTON DC IS COVERED WITH SMOKE?

HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL DIED OR INJURED OR GO BLIND IF THE SMOKE SWEEP WASHINGTON DC.

DOES US GOVERNMENT HAVE BILLIONS OF DOLLAR TO SETTLE LAW SUE?

WILL PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA CAN LIVE IN BILLIONAIRES BILL GATES HOUSE FOR THE TIME BEING UNTIL THE SMOKE IS CLEARED IN WASHINGTON DC AREA?

BILLIONAIRES BILL GATES HOUSE IS WELL FURNISH FOR EVERYTHING BECAUSE IT WAS BUILD FOR US $ 200,000,000.

BILL GATES HOME IN LAKE WASHINGTON, MEDINA, SEATTLE IS LIKE THE WHITEHOUSE AND CAMP DAVID.

EMPEROR NAPOLEAN BONAPARTE ATTACK MOSCOW IN 1812.

WHITEHOUSE WAS BURN IN 1812.

SO, IN SIMPLE ENGLISH WASHINGTON DC COULD BE COVERED WITH SMOKE VERY SOON.

ARE ALL TH 16 INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES PREAPRE FOR NEW BALL GAME.

WHO START THE FIRE?

WHY DID HE START THE FIRE?

WHERE DID HE START THE FIRE?

WELL, THERE ARE QUESTIONS TO ANSWER IF FIRE START IN CANADA AND SPREAD TO AMERICA.

THE BIBLE MENTIONED THAT A FIRE WILL START IN LATIN AMERCIA AND NOBODY CAN PUT IT OUT AND THIS MEAN THE SMOKE COULD COME TO AMERICA.

THERE ARE FIGHT BETWEN PROTESTANTS AND CATHOLIC IN NORTHERN IRELAND RECENTLY.

SO THESE PEOPLE ARE PRIME SUSPECTED IF THEY BRING THEIR WAR TO CANADA.

WHATEVER HISTORY REPEAT ITSELF.

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND CANADA.

MR. ROBIN DONALD.

Answer
First off it is considered VERY rude to type in all upper case letters. It's the equivalent of shouting.

Most of your rant is silly. Washington D.C is several hounded miles from Canada. Even if smoke did reach D.C it wouldn't have any of the effects you rant about.
