We have been to Kittatinny campgrounds the past three summers and loved it there, but want to try other campgrounds. We are looking for a campground that has electric on campsites and bathrooms by the sites, and possibly river raft trips available. Somewhere that is about 2 - 2 1/2 hour drive from Long Island. (NY, PA etc) Any ideas?

There are many places to go camping in the Catskills of Sullivan County,N.Y, your pretty accurate about the time frame as far as driving, depending on the traffic on the LIE( I grew up in Sullfolk County, I remember the dreaded Long Island expressway, lol).Either way there are many places in the Catskills to camp at, most have electric on the sites as well as public restrooms equipped with showers. Many of the campgrounds located in the Catskills have adjoining lakes to rowboat and fish on.I too enjoy camping, its a great way to enjoy the outdoors in the country.
Check this out .http://www.mtnsportlive.com/ look for the link on the right that specifies campgrounds, also there is a Google map widget located at the top of the page, just copy and paste your desired location into the browser( search bar) of the widget, this will also give you printed out driving directions .
Hope you find a campground that will suit your needs and have an enjoyable time when you decide to go. :)
