It's kind of hard for me to really ask my question in that thing so I'll explain. I'm not really into a lot of activities. I like technical theatre stuff such as lighting, sound, make up, costume, props. I prefer lighting and stage make up. I also enjoy writing. I want to find something to do that involves the things I love and other people. Like camps, programs, clubs. Something of that nature. Just something social I can do in my area. I live in Arlington Texas, so anything in the Dallas/Arlington/Fort Worth area would be good. Or if you know of a website that would help me find something. I should also add that I am 15. And I would like something I could do over the Summer or during the Fall. Thank you,

I think the best thing to do would be to first find a local theater production company. Maybe a youth theater group, community theater, or kids acting camp. Nothing serious, just something near by. To find these you could ask local community centers and theaters. Find a few and give them a call. Explain to them that you really enjoy working backstage with the technical aspects of theater. Ask them if they'd be willing to let you work backstage with the set, lighting, sound, etc. I do community theater and most of the people working backstage are parent volunteers. They work on building the set, changing scenes, helping with costumes and props, etc. Since it's around summer break, there are probably tons of production companies and camps, that would be more than happy to have you around. Just make a few calls and see what you can do! Good luck :)

Any state or national parks near DFW where I could plink?

I'm not talking NEAR near, maybe a couple hours drive or so. Perhaps a bit farther if it is a good place to camp or hike.

Answer
Nope but I can tell you that there is alot of private property around frisco/plano area. I perfer shooting indoor in dallas/plano because the costs are reasonable for what your getting. I used to shoot at garland public shooting range which is like $10 all day with plenty of rifle lanes, pistol, and some machines for skeet shooting. I would have loved to just plink, practice draws, and rapid fire but you need to find private land for that. I suggest craigslist or just try to meet people at ranges. Garland is really friendly but their ammo is god awful expensive.
