Q. I live in Wasilla, Alaska and I'm thinking of moving to Orlando temporally for about a year. I have been there twice, once during spring break, and once in December. I am planning on driving my pickup truck down and living in the back with a mattress and the necessities. (I have a shell for the bed) I would do this for the winter season so I can save enough money to get a pretty decent place. I am a semi professional poker dealer and I have experience in the business world. Im a 20 y/o male and I want a short but decent break from everything up in Alaska. My question is, **What do you think the weather would be like if I were to backpack in my truck for the winter months?** Too hot, too cold, ect.
I didn't know it was illegal. And I was planning on one of the casinos. And hygiene wise, I wa hoping there is a 24 hr gym down there I can join to work out at and have a shower when I need. Alaska has the Alaska club for showers weights card ect. I'm not worried about being cold at all, I was worried about heat. I hate the cold yet love heat so we shall see

I have done the same exact thing you are planning on doing all around the US. I Don't know if you are planning on paying for a trailer park space or camping spot, but sleeping in your car in parking lots is illegal in Orlando. I am not saying it can't be done, just saying be careful.
As for sleeping in your truck during the Winter months. It certainly will not be too hot or cold. It actually will probably suit you well. Its typically in the 50's or 40's during the night in Orlando during the winter, rarely reaching freezing tempratures. If you have done any camping in Alaska i am sure you have a sleeping bag that is suited for at least freezing temperatures just in case. I always brought along a sleeping bag that was geared for a lower temprature than i expected to be sleeping in, just to be on the safe side.
The days are typically in the 70's, which is hot if you are in the bed of a truck, but you probably won't be in the bed of your truck when the day reaches that temprature. Best of luck to you.

My birthday is coming up and we just went camping in Orlando, FL for a cousins birthday and we had a blast. But I want to go camping on a beach so im thinking maybe Key West. Does anyone know of a campground on the beach in Key West. If you know of any other place in Florida that has a campground on the beach let me know either way. Thanks!
Im planning to go with no more than 10 people and we are really picky about privacy. We usually like to feel like the area is all to ourselves. So if there is a campground or a really nice beach that someone can recommend please let me know. I dont mind staying at a hotel and going to a really nice beach. Oh by the way, Miami Beach would be my last option because I practically grew up there.

I hate to break it to you but Key West doesn't really have much for beaches. It's a beautiful area for sure, but the beaches are terrible. They are often algae choked, and smell rancid. The waters are great a couple miles off shore though, and there are lots of diving expeditions for very little cash.
