What are some of the best summer tourist places in the Midwest?

Looking for a place in the midwest fairly near Nebraska, Missouri, Oklahoma, Colorado, Iowa etc, that are fun summer vacation areas. Preferbly geared towards teens or college students but shout out any suggestsion...I like Lake of the Ozarks, but am looking to find other options similar to it.

I lived in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and think that is a beautifull place. You can have vey nice holidays there if you like to be in touch with nature. There are many lakes, parks and rivers where you can camp, rent a canoe, go fishing, etc. With the advantge of being a peacefull town you find things of a city such as many good restaurantes and places to go out at night. If you like music you can hear many different bands as well. I specially like to hear when they play blue grass.
