I am planning a 5 day trip. Where should I go. I have a friend in Miami, and a brother in Newport Beach, CA. I am not limited to those 2 places though. Where do you suggest?

I think I'd go to Minnesota and take a camping/canoeing trip up into the lakes...or Mount Rushmore...or Acadia National Park in Maine...the Durango & Silverton RR in Colorado...I've always wanted to go to all those places.

Anyone know any good places to go primitive camping/backpacking?

I live in Dayton, OH, and am willing to travel up to 6 to 7 hours. I am not looking for a place that has rv's and pools and game rooms. I am looking to go backpacking for a day, and camp out in the woods with nothing but nature around me. It would be nice if there was water around.
